To Duet a TikTok is to post an existing TikTok video (the full, unedited video) with the addition of a split screen where you can add your own footage, either in response to the original or in collaboration with the video’s creator.

- Find the post you want to Duet.
- Click the “Share” button (the arrow on the bottom right of your screen).
- Select the “Duet” button. Not every user will allow for their posts to be Dueted. If it’s not possible to Duet this post, you will see a grayed-out Duet button.
- Record your Duet by pressing the red circle icon. You can also change the video speed, change how your footage will look against the original TikTok video, and add filters and effects if you wish.
- Select the pink check mark at the bottom of the screen.
- Edit your video with text, stickers, effects, change privacy settings, and adjust the volume if you wish.
- When finished, select “Next.”
- Add your caption, location, and adjust the video settings. From here you can choose whether you will allow people to Duet with your TikTok.
- Once done, click “Post.”

A Duet allows you to share an existing TikTok from another user (or from yourself), with the addition of a split screen to add your own footage. How to make a Stitch on TikTok
Find the TikTok you would like to Stitch and select the “Share” option from the right-hand menu. Tap “Stitch” and then choose the part of the video you’d like to Stitch. Choose the filming options from the side panel and then record your own footage.

Dueting a TikTok allows you to add your own footage to play alongside another TikTok using a split screen. Re-posting on TikTok allows you to post an existing TikTok from another user from your own TikTok account to share with your audience, without making edits to the original TikTok or adding any footage of your own.

To repost on TikTok, find a TikTok you would like to repost and then hit the “Share” option from the right-hand menu on screen. You will then see the option to “Repost.”
