Looking to effortlessly convert your horizontal videos into vertical format for platforms like Instagram and TikTok?
Adobe Premiere Pro's Auto Reframe Tool can help you do just that.
I am Jay Espitia-Pierluissi, and I've been running a video production business for over five years, working with clients all around the world, as well as coaching other videographers on how to scale their business past $10,000 a month.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to apply Auto Reframe and refine your framing using keyframes.
First, let's apply Auto Reframe to change your video from horizontal to vertical.
Select your sequence in the Timeline that you want to reframe, right-click on the sequence and choose Auto Reframe Sequence...
Choose the Target Aspect Ratio such as Vertical 9:16 and click Create.
Premiere Pro will analyze the motion in your video and automatically adjust the framing to fit the new aspect ratio.
We can use reframing to make sure the subject is consistently centered.
Here's how.
Select the reframe sequence and go to the Effect Controls panel, adjust the Position, Scale, and Rotation settings to fine-tune the framing.
Use keyframes to change these settings over time, ensuring that important elements stay within the frame throughout the video.
This allows you to maintain control over how your video is presented, making sure it looks great in this new format.
By mastering the Auto Reframe and refining the framing with keyframes, you'll be able to adapt your videos for any platform with ease.
Whether you're switching from horizontal to vertical or any other aspect ratio, these tools in Premiere Pro will help you to maintain the quality and focus on your content.
