Let's open up Adobe Illustrator, let's name this the Billy Zine.
We're going to make our pages 5.5 x 8.5 inches.
This basically is a letter sized sheet of paper folded in half.
Let's build our pagination here.
This is going to be the cover, the inside pages and remember when you're making your zine it has to be in multiples of 4, so when you print it out everything folds correctly.
Our Billy Zine is going to be 12 pages.
What we're doing now is we're bringing in our scans, which we previously adjusted in Adobe Photoshop, and we're just going to be throwing them into our zine.
And I'm just simply laying out each graphic to see what we have here.
And then we're going to spread it out.
Right now I'm just adding some copy.
I think it'll look nice if we use a nice bold font here.
We're going to roll with Cooper Bold.
Let's add some light touches like a border here for the cover.
We're pretty much done here.
So what you're going to do is just hit Save as..., and we're going to do a PDF.
And you're going to open it in Adobe Acrobat.
And then we're going to hit Print.
When you're in this menu here you want to go ahead and choose Booklet printing and make sure your Binding is set to Left.
It's time to print the zine.
Basically, this printer here does double sided printing.
We're going to make sure everything's collated in order.
And what you're simply going to do is stack them all and make sure they're all even on all sides and then we're going to fold them in half.
So we end up with these folded pages.
Like I mentioned earlier we're going to saddle-stitch them, which is just using a long stapler to put some staples here on the top and the bottom.
We're going to set it like this.
We want our staples to fold in the inside of the zine, and not on the outside.
We're going to line it up here.
One on the bottom, one on the top.
Repeat the process here.
You're all set.
