В строке меню (в верхней части окна) представлены меню «Файл», «Правка» и др. В них пользователю доступны различные команды, настройки и панели.
Панель «Инструменты» (слева) содержит инструменты для создания и редактирования иллюстраций. Похожие друг на друга инструменты сгруппированы. Чтобы получить доступ к ним, щелкните и удерживайте тот или иной инструмент на панели «Инструменты».
Справа находятся панели «Свойства», «Слои» и другие панели с различными элементами управления для работы с иллюстрацией. Полный список панелей см. в меню «Окно».
Окно документа (посредине) отображает файл, над которым вы работаете в данный момент. Несколько открытых документов отображаются в виде вкладок в окне «Документ».

Инструмент «Масштаб» на панели «Инструменты» позволяет рассмотреть документ в подробностях. Чтобы увеличить или уменьшить масштаб, нажмите клавишу Alt (Windows) или Option (macOS).
Инструмент «Рука» позволяет перемещаться по документу. Чтобы воспользоваться им, нажмите и удерживайте инструмент «Масштаб» на панели «Инструменты».

Если в Illustrator не открыты документы, отображается начальный экран. В нем перечислены последние открытые файлы, обучающие материалы и стили. С помощью этого экрана также можно получить доступ к различным ресурсам и выполнить поиск в Adobe Stock.
Выберите «Файл» > «Создать». В диалоговом окне «Новый документ» в первую очередь выберите стиль. Например, если вы выберете «Печать», отобразятся различные размеры и параметры, которые можно выбрать для нового документа. В диалоговом окне «Новый документ» вам доступны бесплатные и платные шаблоны Adobe Stock, на основе которых вам будет проще создать собственные проекты.

Выберите «Файл» > «Сохранить» или «Файл» > «Сохранить как». В диалоговом окне «Сохранить на компьютере или в облачных документах» можно выбрать «Сохранить в облачные документы», чтобы сохранить документ в облаке, или «Сохранить на своем компьютере», чтобы сохранить документ локально на своем компьютере.
Облачный документ доступен на любом устройстве, где установлено приложение Illustrator, в том числе на iPad. Облачные документы автоматически сохраняются в ходе работы над ними. Документы в облаке сохраняются быстрее, чем на компьютере. Кроме того, вы можете хранить различные версии облачного документа на панели «Журнал версий».
Примечание. При сохранении файла в формате Illustrator (с расширением AI) или облачного документа Illustrator (с расширением AIC) в нем сохраняются слои, шрифт и другие редактируемые свойства Illustrator. Мы рекомендуем сохранить документ на компьютере как документ Illustrator или в качестве облачного документа, пока вы над ним работаете.
