Get to know the editing controls

With a photo selected, click the Edit icon on the right to access the panels of editing controls.

To expand or collapse a panel, click the panel title. If you prefer only one panel to stay open at a time, click the three dots in the column on the right and choose Single-Panel Mode.

Many of the editing controls are sliders. Drag a slider left or right to make an adjustment. For more control, click the value to the right of a slider and press the up or down arrow key on your keyboard to move the slider in increments. To reset a slider, double-click the circle on the slider.

To compare a before and after view of a photo as you edit, click the Show Original icon in the toolbar.

Your edits do not actually change the original image, so you can re-adjust or remove edits at any time. To undo one step at a time, choose Edit > Undo. To redo, choose Edit > Redo. To undo all your edits, click the three dots in the column on the right and choose Revert to Original.

All your edits are automatically synced to the Cloud and appear on the photo on your other devices.

With a photo selected, click the Edit icon. Then click Presets at the bottom of the column of editing panels to open the Presets panel. Click a category title in the Presets panel to access the presets in that category.

To preview how a preset will look on the selected photo, hover over the preset without clicking. Notice that some of the controls in the editing panels change.
Tip: This is a useful way to teach yourself about the effects of different editing controls.

When you find a preset you like, click the preset to apply it to the selected photo. You can apply multiple presets to the same photo.

You can remove presets using the Undo or Revert to Original commands.

If you want more than one version of a photo, each with a different preset, choose Edit > Make a Copy. This creates an additional copy of the photo in your photo library.

You can create your own preset from scratch or start with another preset applied to a selected photo. Adjust the editing controls to get a look you like on the selected photo.

If the Presets panel isn’t open,click the Edit icon and then Presets. Click the three dots at the top right of the Presets panel and choose Create Preset. Name the preset and click Save.

Your custom preset is now listed in the User Presets category of the Presets panel, ready for you to apply to other photos in your photo library.
