In this lesson I'll show you how you can take a photo that you've edited here in Lightroom CC and save a copy with the edits to your computer or even to an external drive.
I'm going to select this photo and come over and click the Edit icon and here I'm going to make a change to the photo.
I'll go down and select Presets and in the Presets panel I'll choose this Creative category and I'm going to give this photo a graphic look with this Preset.
Now you can save a photo with your edits either from here in Detail view or from back in the Grid view by going up to the right clicking the Share icon and choosing Save To.
In the Save window that opens first I'll choose the File Type.
You have two choices, you can either save as JPEG or you can choose in the Original format.
So, for example, if you started with a RAW file or TIFF and you wanted that same format when you save this is the choice that you'd make.
And the Settings part just refers to changes you've made to the photo or to its Metadata.
I'm going to choose JPEG.
I can also choose the Location to which the photo will be saved.
By default, it will be saved here in my Pictures folder in this folder that Lightroom CC makes for me.
I'll just leave that as it is.
But you can choose to save your photo anywhere on your computer or even on an external drive.
Next I'll go to the Size menu, you can choose Small which is a good choice for a photo that say you want to attach to an email.
You can choose Full Size which is a good choice if you want to print a photo or you can choose Custom where you can specify the Size in pixels of the Long side of the photo.
I'll choose Small and then I'll click Save.
If I go out to my hard drive and I look at the location where I told Lightroom CC to save that photo which is here in my Pictures folder in the Lightroom CC Saved Photos folder, there I’ll see the copy of the photo with the changes that I made in Lightroom CC.
So, that's how to get your photos out of Lightroom CC, to attach to an email, to print or maybe just to have another copy with your edits.
