To find out, Adobe analysed LinkedIn data from major UK universities, defining "creative alumni" as graduates working as marketing professionals or arts and design specialists. We also tracked entrepreneurship separately to paint a complete picture of how different universities are shaping the future of creative industries.

Creative talent is flourishing in cities across the UK. Our analysis reveals where the next generation of designers and marketers are coming from.
London emerged as the undisputed capital of creative education, home to 43,304 creative alumni — more than twice that of any other city. Second-place Leeds established itself as a northern creative hub with 18,313 alumni. Manchester followed in third with a strong showing of 15,053 creative graduates.
The rest of the UK's top creative cities spanned from Scotland to southern England and included: Cambridge, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oxford, Nottingham, Portsmouth, and Birmingham.
When it came to individual institutions, Loughborough University led with an impressive concentration of creative talent — 1,033.8 creative professionals per 10,000 graduates. Hot on its heels was the University of Leeds with 1,028.4.
Leading universities for marketing and arts
These are the institutions with the highest concentrations of alumni working in marketing or arts and design professions.
When it came to producing marketing talent, the University of Leeds claimed the top spot with 561.5 marketing professionals per 10,000 alumni. The University of Sussex followed with an impressive 486.6, while Lancaster University secured third place with 467.1.
As for arts and design, the University of Dundee emerged as the clear frontrunner, producing 639.6 professionals per 10,000 alumni. Loughborough University demonstrated its creative strength again with 603, and the University of Portsmouth rounded out the top three with 518.8.
Top UK universities for entrepreneurs
When it came to entrepreneurial spirit, graduates from the UK's most prestigious institutions ranked high. Here's where independent business founders are most likely to emerge.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) topped the chart with 282.1 entrepreneurs per 10,000 alumni. The University of Cambridge — which ranked in the top 10 for marketing graduates — followed in an incredibly close second place with 282.0. The University of Oxford placed third with 217.9 entrepreneurs per 10,000 graduates, rounding out a top three dominated by the UK's most renowned universities.
At the other end of the spectrum, St. George's, University of London, which specialises in medicine and healthcare, produced just 47.1 entrepreneurs per 10,000 graduates.

Adobe used LinkedIn alumni data for major UK universities to explore which has the most reported alumni who are entrepreneurs, marketing professionals, and arts and design professionals. We grouped marketing and arts and design alumni as "creative alumni." Data was collected in December 2024; numbers may change after publication.
