Exasperating After several months of getting used to where everything moved to, I'm finally used to ver. XI. I was previously on ver. VIII, so it was quite a shock when I saw the new look. I now know where most features live, but I am constantly plagued by two things: 1) everytime I open a file, the software wants to read it or prepare it for something, I don't know what. 2) It regularly crashes two or more times a day. It happens on my laptop as well as my desktop. I only upgraded because some of the newer software programs could not open some of my older PDFs. If someone could help me with my two problems, I would be most appreciative. 21-April-2013

Text Editing is Awful I don't know what Adobe was thinking, but editing text is awful in this so-called "upgrade." As others have noted, it is slow and clunky, now, and it's impossible to change the default font. The "blue box" is hard to manipulate, and typos frequently occur because of the slowness of the text edit feature and the way the blue box conceals text. What a disastrous step backward. 02-April-2013

Unhappy with upgrade I was a reasonably satisfied Acrobat customer, having used it since Acrobat 5. I thought X was a worthwhile upgrade. But I have been greatly disappointed by XI. I have removed and reinstalled it once and repaired it twice but the problems continue. It works much slower than X, it periodically crashes and I lose hours of forms design work, and its integration with Outlook feels very labored. Furthermore, I find the change in the way you can edit previously designed forms (especially content - text & images) to be much less intuitive. In X and earlier versions, it was simple. If you try to edit, it sends you to LiveCycle Designer but in that software you can only edit fields. So you have to save back to a simple pdf and lose the fields then edit the content and then you have to recreate all of the fields. Nonsense! If there is a better way, my IT tech and I haven't found it in manuals or on forums, so it isn't very intuitive at all. I tried to get rid of it and revert to X, but now X is pushing the LiveCycle Designer edit process so I appear to be stuck. 15-March-2013
