Malicious content inserted into a file, such as a document, could trigger a buffer overflow if the file is distilled to PDF with Adobe Acrobat.
For version 6.0-6.0.4, Acrobat users should utilize the product's automatic update facility to install version 6.0.5 or alternatively download and install the update from www.adobe.com/support/downloads.
Adobe Acrobat 6.0.4 and earlier
Adobe categorizes this as a critical update and recommends affected users update to version 6.0.5.
Malicious content inserted into a file, such as a document, could trigger a buffer overflow if the file is distilled to PDF with Adobe Acrobat. A buffer overflow can cause Acrobat to crash and can result in malicious code execution.
This issue was discovered by Adobe secure software engineering practices.
