Summary

A critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe PageMaker 7.0.1 and PageMaker 7.0.2 that could allow an attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability to take control of the affected system. It is recommended that users update their installations using the instructions provided below.

Solution

Adobe recommends PageMaker 7.0.1 and PageMaker 7.0.2 users update their installations using the instructions below:

  1. Download the zip file.
  2. Exit PageMaker.
  3. Browse to the PageMaker installation directory (default is \Program Files\Adobe\PageMaker 7.0\).
  4. Expand the zip file and overwrite the existing MAIPM6.dll file in the PageMaker installation directory.
  5. Restart PageMaker.

Adobe categorizes this as a critical issue and recommends affected users patch their installations.

Details

A critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe PageMaker 7.0.1 and PageMaker 7.0.2 that could allow an attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability to take control of the affected system. It is recommended that users update their installations using the instructions provided above. This issue is not remotely exploitable.
