Vulnerability identifier: APSB09-02

CVE number: CVE-2009-0523, CVE-2009-0524

Update 1 (CVE-2009-0524)

  1. Download and unzip the RoboHelp 7 update file or the RoboHelp 6 update file.

  3. The file in WildFireExt \template_stock folder should be copied to <installfolder>\robohtml\ WildFireExt \template_stock.
  4. Restart RoboHelp.
  5. Re-generate RoboHelp content.
  6. Replace existing content with newly generated RoboHelp content.

Update 2 (RoboHelp Server 7 and RoboHelp Server 6 only – CVE-2009-0523)

Details

A specially crafted URL could be used to create a cross-site scripting attack against files generated by RoboHelp. This issue is remotely exploitable. (CVE-2009-0524)

A specially crafted URL could be used to create a cross-site scripting attack RoboHelp Server 7 and RoboHelp Server 6. An attacker would need to have access to the RoboHelp Help Errors log, or convince someone with access to the RoboHelp Help Errors log to click on a malicious URL, in order to execute the attack. This specific issue does not apply to RoboHelp 7 or RoboHelp 6 (non-Server releases). (CVE-2009-0523)
