We believe that our employees are not only our greatest strength as a company, but also a powerful force for creating change in our communities. So we invest in their efforts by supporting the causes they care about. Whether employees choose to support charitable organisations through volunteer service or donations, we’re able to double the impact of their generosity through our Matching Grants Programme. Adobe matches all full-time employees’ donations of time, cash or securities up to $10,000 per calendar year.
For every 10 hours of volunteer service an employee donates to a charitable organisation, we provide a $250 individual volunteer grant that can be directed to the organisation of their choice. When employees volunteer as teams, they unlock Adobe team volunteer grants for the beneficiary organisation. For every 10 employees who volunteer together, we provide a grant of $1,000, up to $10,000.
Donations of cash and securities are matched 1:1 to eligible nonprofit organisations. We encourage employees to give back and we respect their personal choices in doing so.
In 2015, we had an internal goal of 50% employee participation in our matching grants programme. We reached 39% participation, even with a 10% increase in our employee population worldwide. For 2016, we have set a public goal of 45% participation and are on track to meet this goal.
Additionally, in 2015 our employees donated more than $4.3 million to charitable organisations around the world. As a results of new incentives and increased awareness of matching grant benefits, we anticipate that the combined total of employee donations will exceed $5 million in 2016 and have set this as our goal.
