O que você aprendeu: fazer uma seleção e ajustar apenas a área selecionada
Uma seleção isola parte de uma imagem para que você possa trabalhar nela sem afetar o restante da imagem.
No painel Ferramentas, selecione a ferramenta Letreiro retangular
. Arraste para criar uma seleção retangular na imagem. A área dentro da borda animada representa sua seleção.
Para selecionar uma porção maior, clique no ícone Adicionar à seleção, na barra de opções, ou pressione Shift e arraste. Para selecionar uma porção menor, clique no ícone Subtrair da seleção, na barra de opções, ou pressione Alt (Windows) ou Option (MacOS) e arraste.
Selecione a camada que você deseja ajustar. Em seguida, aplique somente os ajustes (Imagem > Ajustes). Com uma seleção ativa, os ajustes afetam somente a área selecionada daquela camada. O mesmo acontecerá se você aplicar um filtro, pintar, preencher, copiar ou fizer outras edições.
Quando concluir os ajustes, retire a seleção em Selecionar > Cancelar seleção
ou pressionando Control+D (Windows) ou Command+D (macOS).

No painel Ferramentas, selecione a ferramenta Seleção rápida.
Arraste sobre a área que você deseja selecionar. Essa ferramenta tenta encontrar automaticamente as bordas da imagem e para a seleção nesse ponto.
Após a seleção inicial, a ferramenta alterna automaticamente para a opção Adicionar à seleção. Para selecionar uma área maior, arraste a seleção sobre ela.
Para selecionar uma porção menor, pressione Alt (Windows) ou Option (MacOS) e arraste pelas áreas que deseja remover da seleção.
Experimente ajustar o tamanho e a dureza da ferramenta Seleção rápida na barra de opções.
Use a ferramenta Laço
No painel Ferramentas, selecione a ferramenta Laço. Ela é útil para limpar uma seleção iniciada com outra ferramenta.
Para adicionar uma seleção feita com qualquer ferramenta, pressione Shift e arraste ao redor da área que você deseja adicionar.
Para remover uma parte de uma seleção, selecione a opção Subtrairda seleção
na barra de opções ou pressione Alt (Windows) ou Option (macOS) e arraste sobre a área que você deseja remover.
Pressione Control+D (Windows) ou Command+D (macOS) para cancelar a seleção.

Faça uma seleção com a ferramenta Seleção rápida.
Na barra de opções, clique em Selecionar e mascarar para abrir o espaço de trabalho Selecionar e mascarar.
No menu Visualizar, à direita do espaço de trabalho, selecione uma das opções de exibição, como Sobreposição
, para ver sua seleção de maneira mais precisa. Na exibição Sobreposição, a área selecionada fica clara, e a área não selecionada fica translúcida, na cor vermelha, por padrão.
No painel Ferramentas, selecione a ferramenta Pincel. Pinte, na imagem, as porções dela que você quer adicionar à área selecionada. Se quiser subtrair uma parte da área selecionada, pressione Alt (Windows) ou Option (macOS) e pinte a área que deseja remover.
Na parte inferior direita do espaço de trabalho, no menu Configurações de saída > Saída para, selecione Seleção como tipo de saída.
Clique em OK para fechar o espaço de trabalho Selecionar e mascarar.
