If you want to explore new styles for an interior, Photoshop's Reference image feature lets you quickly transform any room using just the photo.
My name is Rob de Winter.
I'm an Adobe Certified instructor, author, and designer based in the Netherlands.
And in this video, I'll show you how to give your interior a fresh new look using Generate image in Photoshop.
I've already opened a photo of a basic minimally styled room.
This is the room I want to restyle.
I also have a photo of a living room I really like - the furniture, the colors, the overall vibe.
This image will serve as our style reference.
You can now click the Generate image button in the Toolbar.
In the Prompt field, type: 'Contemporary bedroom with a cozy natural vibe, muted colors, modern furniture, and plants'.
Under Content type, select Photo.
In the Reference image section, click the Style button and choose the photo that represents the style you're aiming for.
Next, click the Composition button and select the photo of your own room.
This tells Generate image to keep the outlines, depth, and layout of your original image.
Drag the Strength slider all the way to the right.
This ensures the results closely follow the structure of your room while applying the style from your style reference.
Now click Generate.
Photoshop will generate three variations of your redesigned room.
Choose the one that matches your vision best.
If you want to try the other results, just click Generate again.
If you're happy with the end result but want to make a few final adjustments, for example, replacing the carpet, you can do this right inside Photoshop.
Simply drag in an image of your preferred carpet and place it over the generated one.
And just like always in Photoshop, you can use all the tools you're familiar with to make any changes you want.
Think of removing or adding objects.
This way, you can personalize your design even further.
You've now seen how to restyle any room using the Generate image feature in Photoshop, with a style reference for inspiration and the composition reference to match your layout.
Again, my name is Rob de Winter, and I hope this video helps you reimagine your own or someone else's interior.
I look forward to seeing you in more Adobe videos.
