Adobe® Content Server 3 is a robust server solution for protecting premium digital content against unauthorized use, via Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology. Content Server technology supports both purchase and lending transactions.
Content Server protected PDF publications are being distributed by hundreds of content retailers and institutions as well as thousands of public libraries around the world.
Adobe Content Server 3 is no longer distributed by Adobe as a standalone product. Instead, a number of Adobe Partners, including service providers and content aggregators, offer Content Server protection as a convenient hosted service. View complete Content Server partners list
Content Server DRM technology is supported by Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader versions 6 and 7 and is seamlessly integrated with Adobe Digital Editions, Adobe’s new Rich Internet Application expressly designed for reading and managing digital publications (currently in public Beta).
Adobe Digital Editions is a lightweight Flash-based solution, with native support for both PDF and reflow-centric XML-based publications (ePub). Digital Editions can even be installed on-demand during content download, as demonstrated in our Sample eBook Library.
To stay informed about forthcoming new digital publishing and content protection solutions from Adobe please email digitaleditions@adobe.com.
Technical support still continues for any customers who have purchased a Adobe Partner Connection Solution Partner Program support membership membership.
Content Server customers can continue to distribute content with the digital rights management functionality found in Adobe Acrobat® 6.0x and Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and Adobe Reader 7.0 software, as well as the new Adobe Digital Editions solution that is integrated with Adobe Acrobat and Reader 8.0 software. The Digital Rights Management activator service will be maintained through December 31, 2008 (two years longer than previously communicated).
