What is Adobe® Presenter 8?

Adobe Presenter 8 software helps you communicate more effectively with engaging videos and interactive presentations created in PowerPoint. Minimize the time, effort, and costs of producing and editing videos by doing it yourself at your desktop without specialized equipment or training. Add quizzes and out-of-the-box assets; deliver content to the web, video sharing sites, desktops, and mobile devices, including iPad*; and track using integration with Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and Salesforce.com.

Who should use Presenter?

Anyone who needs to communicate with or train people online should use Adobe Presenter. This typically includes managers who need to easily convert PowerPoint slides into interactive training content. Subject-matter experts can convey their expertise by converting live presentations into on-demand videos. Sales and marketing departments can communicate more effectively with customers and partners by converting static collateral into impactful sales videos.

What is the difference between Adobe Captivate®, Adobe Presenter, and Adobe eLearning Suite?

Adobe Captivate software helps you create various types of eLearning content without programming. Adobe Presenter is a simpler tool that lets you create training videos from within Microsoft PowerPoint. Adobe eLearning Suite software is a complete toolbox for creating eLearning content end to end as well as media editing using tools like Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Flash® Professional, and Adobe Audition®.

I already have a license for an earlier version of Adobe Presenter. What are my upgrade options?

Special upgrade pricing is available to customers who have valid licenses for Adobe Presenter 7 and want to upgrade to Adobe Presenter 8.

What are the system requirements to view an Adobe Presenter presentation?

Adobe Presenter content plays back in any standard web browser with Adobe Flash® Player 6 software or later. Review the Adobe Presenter system requirements.

Does Adobe Presenter support SWF files in a PowerPoint presentation?

The Adobe Presenter plug-in for PowerPoint makes it easy to fully integrate SWF files into a PowerPoint presentation for delivery through the Adobe Presenter content viewer.

Can I use Adobe Presenter with my existing PowerPoint presentations?

Yes. Adobe Presenter solutions provide the fastest way to publish your existing PowerPoint files on the web, either for self-running, on-demand presentations or as part of online meetings and seminars.

Does Adobe Presenter support streaming audio and video?

Adobe Presenter offers adaptive streaming audio and video and intelligently preloads presentation content for a great viewing experience. It also supports streaming “talking head” video, which enables authors to import prerecorded FLV files to increase the impact of Adobe Presenter presentations and self-paced training.

Does Adobe Presenter provide quiz and survey authoring?

Yes. Subject-matter experts can easily add quiz and survey questions to presentations to test understanding and assist in knowledge retention. Adobe Presenter provides all major question interaction formats: multiple choice/multiple answer, true/false, matching, fill-in-the-blank, short answer/essay, and rating scale (Likert).

Can I use Adobe Captivate demonstrations and simulations with Adobe Presenter?

Yes. You can include the SWF files generated by Adobe Captivate in Adobe Presenter presentations with the Insert Flash feature. Presentations can include linear Adobe Captivate demonstrations to show users how to perform a task as well as interactive Adobe Captivate simulations to allow users to practice completing tasks.

Is Adobe Presenter integrated with Adobe Connect™ software?

Yes. You can play Adobe Presenter presentations in an Adobe Connect meeting as either a static click-through presentation or a self-running, narrated presentation.

Is Adobe Presenter integrated with Adobe Connect Training?

Yes. Presenter is the authoring application that enables you to convert PowerPoint presentations into rich media eLearning courses. From PowerPoint, you can publish directly to the Adobe Connect Server content library for immediate use in Adobe Connect Training courses and curriculums.

Is Adobe Presenter integrated with Adobe Connect Events?

Yes. You can use Adobe Presenter presentations with Adobe Connect Events. Adobe Connect Events provides advanced registration and reporting capabilities for Adobe Presenter presentations, which is useful in sales and marketing situations where you want to track users who view a presentation on an externally facing website or as part of the sales process.

Is Adobe Presenter integrated with third-party LMSs?

Yes. Adobe Presenter creates AICC-, SCORM 1.2–, and SCORM 2004–compliant content that can be used with third-party LMSs.

What are my content publishing options with Adobe Presenter?

You can publish Adobe Presenter content to either a local or hosted version of Adobe Connect Server or to a content author’s local computer. You can post locally published content on any web server or to a LMS. You can also publish to video sharing sites.

How often do I have to connect to the Internet?

The computer with Adobe Presenter 8 installed must connect to the Internet at least once within 30 days of the first launch of your serialized product.

Do I need to do anything to activate the software?

Activation occurs silently in the background after installation when the system detects an Internet connection. You don't have to do anything to activate.

How long can I use the product before I need to activate?

The product must connect to the Internet at least one time within 30 days of the first launch of your serialized product. If the product has not been activated within 30 days, the application does not launch until an Internet connection is detected, and the software can be activated.

What happens if I do not have an Internet connection or do not activate my product?

The software silently tries to connect to the Internet to activate for 7 days after the first launch of your serialized product. If the software has not been activated within the 7 days, you receive a reminder for the next 23 days on every launch that the computer must connect to the Internet and activate the software. As soon as the software detects an Internet connection, it silently activates the product.

If I don’t have an Internet connection, can I call Customer Service for phone activation?

No. Activation of the product via the Internet is required. If your system is connected to the Internet and you receive an activation reminder, contact your local Customer Service for assistance. However, Customer Service cannot activate your software over the phone if you don’t have an Internet connection.

I have an Internet connection but received a reminder that I still need to activate my product. What do I need to do?

If your system is connected to the Internet and you have received a reminder to activate your product, contact your local Customer Service.

I work for a company that has a volume license agreement with Adobe. Do I still need to activate?

Yes. Adobe Presenter 8 must be activated on every computer on which it is installed for continued use of the software.

I work for a company that has a license with Adobe, and our company systems do not connect to the Internet due to firewall restrictions. What do I need to do to make sure that the software doesn’t stop working?

If your company has firewall restrictions that prevent the computers from connecting to the Internet, have your IT administrator contact your local Customer Service.

Can I choose not to activate Adobe Presenter 8?

Activation of Adobe Presenter 8 via the Internet is required for continued use of the product. Activating your product helps protect your computer and your environment by ensuring that you are using a genuine Adobe product. You must connect to the Internet at least once within 30 days of the first launch of your serialized product; otherwise, the product stops working. If you work in a company that has a firewall that prevents your system from connecting to the Internet, have your IT administrator contact your local Customer Service.

I didn’t know I needed an Internet connection when I purchased Adobe Presenter 8. Is there a way to activate without having an Internet connection?
