Tell an Image What to Do
Our Adobe Research team contains some of the most brilliant computer scientists anywhere. And one of the coolest innovations we’ve put into the “light of day” recently is a breakthrough called PixelTone. In a nutshell, PixelTone will allow a creative to tell an image what to do.
In collaboration with the University of Michigan, we’ve invented a way for people to use natural language to make the image editing process easier and more natural than using gesture or mouse clicks. For example, pointing to part of the image, saying “This is a shirt, make the shirt red,” or “make it brighter here” could become the new workflow. That is absolutely amazing.
While this innovation isn’t available yet, it gives a glimpse of some of what our rockstar scientists are up to (most of which we can’t talk about yet!). Read this article from our senior principal scientist Gregg Wilensky with a lot more of the details of how PixelTone works.
