Did you know that in the Renaissance, a painting's frame could cost more and even take longer than the painting itself?
Today you're going to learn how to create your own frame, adaptable to any shape.
Hi, my name is Ariadna, I'm a graphic designer specializing in visual identity.
And in this tutorial we're going to create a botanical frame inspired by fileteado porteño.
We'll start by creating our module, and for that we'll use the Pathfinder panel and the symmetry options.
Then we'll apply a chalk or charcoal brush to give our stroke a much more natural look.
And now comes the real secret, turning this sample, this illustration, into a pattern brush, so we can use it to create endless frames.
To finish, we'll add a touch of color by hand-painting some of the flowers.
It's an incredible resource for getting a result that has structure but is organic at the same time.
Are you ready?
Let's get started!
