조정 레이어를 사용하면 이미지를 직접 조정하는 것보다 더 세밀하고 유연하게 편집할 수 있습니다. 이미지의 색상과 톤을 훼손하지 않고 조정할 수 있으므로 조정 레이어를 편집하더라도 원본 이미지의 픽셀은 그대로 유지됩니다. 적용한 조정 내용이 마음에 들지 않는 경우 조정 레이어를 숨기거나 삭제하면 원래 이미지로 되돌릴 수 있습니다.
레이어 스택에서 조정 레이어 바로 아래에 있는 하나의 레이어에만 효과가 적용되도록 하는 방법이 있습니다.
속성 패널이 표시되어 있는지 확인하고 속성 패널이 표시되어 있지 않으면 창 > 속성을 선택합니다. 레이어 패널에서 조정 레이어가 선택된 상태에서 속성 패널 하단에 있는 클리핑 마스크 만들기 아이콘을 클릭하여 조정 레이어 바로 아래에 있는 레이어에만 조정을 적용합니다.
조정 레이어 아래에 있는 모든 레이어에 적용하려면 조정 레이어를 선택하고 속성 패널에서 클리핑 마스크 만들기 아이콘을 다시 클릭합니다.
이미지의 특정 부분 조정
모든 조정 레이어에는 레이어 마스크가 포함되어 있습니다. 레이어 마스크가 흰색이면 전체 이미지에 조정이 적용됩니다. 레이어 마스크에 검은색을 추가하면 이미지의 해당 부분 조정이 숨겨지거나 마스크가 적용됩니다.
이 예제에서는 합성 이미지의 일부를 선택한 다음 조정 레이어 마스크의 해당 영역을 검은색으로 칠했습니다. 이렇게 하여 채도를 낮추는 효과를 마스크의 흰색에 해당하는 이미지 영역으로 제한했습니다.
다양한 조정 적용
브러시 툴로 흰색과 검은색 음영의 조정 레이어 마스크를 칠하면 색상 조정의 강도를 조절할 수 있습니다. 조정 레이어 마스크의 흰색 영역은 조정 강도가 높아지고 회색 영역은 부분적으로 다소 약화되며 검은색 영역은 조정 효과가 적용되지 않습니다.
아래 레이어에 톤과 색상을 몇 차례 적용해 보았습니다. 색조/채도 조정을 추가하여 전체 장면의 채도를 낮추고 명도/대비 조정에서 명도와 대비를 낮춰 원하는 효과를 적용했습니다. (보정 전 이미지 참조) 바위가 있는 영역을 약간 밝게 하기 위해 굵고 부드러운 브러시로 레이어 마스크에 회색을 칠했습니다. (보정 후 이미지 참조)
