Senior Analyst, FP&A, Japan


Position Summary

The primary role of the Senior Analyst, FP&A, Japan is to provide business partnering and financial support to the Adobe Japan Enterprise Sales teams. As Senior Analyst, FP&A, Japan you will be expected to own and manage the planning and forecasting processes for bookings, revenue, headcount and expense of both our Digital Media and Digital Marketing Enterprise Sales Teams. This role works closely with the Sales Operations team in the region covering the setting of quota and capacity planning for the Japan Enterprise sales team and local account plan and pipeline reviews, QBRs and business reviews.



Responsibilities

  • Ensure market financial performance adheres to the highest standards of predictability and integrity
  • Managing market submissions for the Annual Revenue Plan, Quarterly Rolling Forecasts ( QRF ) and weekly Outlooks, including:
  • Understanding market trends and seasonality issues
  • Liaising with sales leaders and sales reps, identifying baseline assumptions and monitoring key metrics
  • Understanding Enterprise deal pipeline and opportunities to close
  • Providing comprehensive, insightful information to local sales leaders and Corporate stakeholders, along with detailed supporting data where appropriate
  • Review and commentary on the weekly outlook
  • Owning a highly accurate, “no surprises”-based approach to outlooking for the remainder of the quarter
  • Product and revenue type analysis compared to QRF and prior quarters/years
  • Identifying Market Area trends and providing insight on risks and opportunities for Outlook
  • Assessing the Enterprise Outlook and providing updates on status of deals to close
  • Measuring success against key metrics for strategic products
  • Identifying areas of weakness and proposing solutions
  • Review Opex Outlooks, providing insight into variances and drive accuracy of forecasting well as put in place actions to close any gap to QRF and improve OPEX effectiveness and efficiency
  • Providing quarter-end post-mortem analysis on Enterprise sales financial performance
  • Work closely and articulate with corporate stakeholders (WW Sales FP&A, OM, Credit, BU operations/finance) the key issues that affect the business and/or require support
  • Ad hoc financial support/reporting/analysis as needed

  • Managing the Quota setting and Capacity process working with Regional and Corporate Sales Operations ensuring sync with financial plan assumptions


Requirements

  • Degree level education with a recognized professional body
  • At least 5 years experience of working in finance, with at least 2 years experience of FP&A within a US-based software business
  • In depth knowledge of revenue recognition for Enterprise software
  • Commercially focused and strong business partnership skills with the ability to challenge and have the hard conversation
  • Cultural sensitivity with understanding of working with cultural barriers essential
  • Experience of APAC/Asian role not essential but desirable
  • Excellent communication, collaborative and influencing skills in both English and Japanese
  • The role requires a high level of proficiency in both Excel and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of SAP, TM1 and SFDC not essential, but would be an advantage
