Design, distribute, and discuss
Sharing your 3D designs is just as essential as creating the design in the first place. So when you're ready to distribute and discuss your 3D designs with others, PDF is the ideal format. Interactive 3D PDF files look exactly like the original 3D design, regardless of the application used to create it or the environment in which it's viewed. This enables improved communication and faster decision-making, which helps reduce design errors, improve quality, and increase productivity.

Desktop: Adobe Acrobat X Pro
Use Adobe® Acrobat® X Pro software to easily organize engineering content from a variety of sources — including 2D drawings, spreadsheets, and office documents — into a single, searchable, compact PDF Portfolio for easy distribution. Manage and track shared document reviews, protect sensitive information, and allow anyone to view and interact with the information using free Adobe Reader® software to make comments, review, and approve your designs.

Desktop: 3D PDF Converter from Tetra 4D
This plug-in for Acrobat X Pro converts 3D CAD data from applications such as CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and other popular CAD systems to rich, interactive 3D PDF documents — complete with product manufacturing information (PMI), assembly structure, metadata, and views. Easily export precise BREP 3D CAD data to neutral file formats such as STEP, IGES, or STL that can be used in CAD, CAM, and CAE applications for downstream manufacturing processes. Use the included 3D Reviewer software for advanced preparation of 3D CAD data before saving to 3D PDF.

Server: PDF Generator 3D from PROSTEP
PROSTEP PDF Generator 3D for Adobe LiveCycle® Enterprise Suite 2 (ES2) software provides server-based conversion of 3D CAD data to 3D PDF. Originally developed by Adobe, this technology is now provided by PROSTEP and is the exclusive 3D CAD conversion and PLM component of the LiveCycle ES2 platform. With PROSTEP PDF Generator 3D, you can combine 3D CAD geometry, metadata from existing back-end systems (such as PDM and ERP systems), and engineering information from business documents into a single, interactive PDF document. Integrate the power of 3D PDF into PLM-driven workflows to boost team productivity and enhance business efficiency for the extended enterprise.

Server: Adobe LiveCycle ES2
Use LiveCycle ES2 modules, including LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2, LiveCycle Forms ES2, and LiveCycle Rights Managements ES2, to build applications and integrate with enterprise systems for sharing CAD designs and other critical product data. And by leveraging PDF, you can more securely extend product information beyond the boundaries of your PLM and CAD systems.
