Delivering exceptional user experiences

Adobe® Flash® Lite™ 2.1 for BREW® Devices extends Flash to the growing BREW platform from Qualcomm, creating an exciting ecosystem for selling and distributing Flash based content to handsets enabled for BREW. Using the latest Flash development tools, developers can create content and applications that are offered over the air to consumers on handsets in North America.

Developing rich, interactive content

Application developers–Direct model

Flash and BREW developers can now use Flash Lite for BREW to create exciting casual games and applications, making them accessible through the operators’ application catalogs. Flash Lite is automatically downloaded over the air at the time the user selects the content, making the handset instantly "Flash enabled." This process is similar to the way Flash works on the desktop, and is a great benefit to developers that want to easily deploy content to BREW-enabled handsets.

Leveraging the BREW solution’s billing capabilities, application developers get paid for every download of their Flash-based application to a BREW-based handset.

Flash content developers–Indirect model

Flash developers creating rich mobile content such as animations, screensavers and casual games can partner with content catalog providers such as Atom Entertainment, Fun Mobility and Smashing Ideas to distribute and sell their standard Flash content with little to no modifications for the BREW platform. It’s simple to go from production to sale of rich, engaging content for Flash-enabled BREW handsets.
