This release is a planned update for the products listed in the table below. The latest version is always available through the product’s update mechanism, from the enterprise FTP site, and for some languages, from the Reader Download Center.

Track details

The Acrobat DC product family introduces two tracks for both Acrobat and Reader which are essentially different products: “Classic” and “Continuous.” Most end users will install the Continuous track provided from the Reader Download Center. Enterprise organizations will user either the Classic or Continuous track. For details and a comparison of the two tracks, see http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobatdctracks.

New product features

This release provides various new features for end users described in the New features summary.

Enterprise-Centric features

For details about all of these features, refer to the Administration Guide.

  • AppV scripts and guidelines have been released for both Acrobat and Reader.

  • An AcrobatCleaner for DC products has been posted on LABs. Use this tool to do a clean uninstall.

  • ADM starter templates have been released.

  • SCUP catalogs are updated.

  • A new APTEE tool version ( is released and available from the Licensing Web Site.

  • Some services can now be disable and enabled from the Enterprise Dashboard.

  • 11.x and DC products can now coexist on the same machine. In the past, two versions of Acrobat or Reader could not reside on the same machine.

  • The conversion from a trial version to the classic now occurs inside the product as described in https://helpx.stage.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/convert-from-trial-to-classic.html.

  • Signature profile and appearance synchronization now occurs across all devices and the web. Non digital signature appearances (those associated with Adobe eSign (EchoSign) are synchronized between eSign, Fill & Sign on the web, mobile apps, and the desktop. Signatures or initials created in eSign will now be available in Fill & Sign, and vice versa. When the application detects signatures saved in different apps, users are asked which one should be retained.

  • A new preference allows admins to disable scanned document editing would be disabled in Acrobat. See DisableScannedDocumentEditing in the Preference Reference.

  • Disabling upsell is now possible for users with volume licenses.

Security bulletin

This release provides mitigations for vulnerabilities described in the corresponding security bulletins of Reader and Acrobat.

  • 3734167: SharePoint and Office365 files should get auto-upload.

  • 3957373: Allow the same types of documents (PDF, non-PDF) in Send for Signature as the ones permitted on EchoSign Web.

  • 3951750: Send and Track Outlook add-in should be subject to control of the master switch “bToggleAdobeDocumentServices”.

  • 3951703: Cannot open more than one cloud file from Home view > Recent.

  • 3944328: No thumbnails shown for any file in one window, if two documents opened and user switches to Thumbnail view in both.

  • 3931760: User cannot open a cloud file from Recent in thumbnail view till all thumbnails have been fetched.

  • 3951389: Acrobat/Reader crashes on quit when not connected to network in signed-in state.


  • 3954308: No invocation point exists for feature “Send for Approval by Email” under Review App.


  • 3955970: After copy-paste operation of a text bounding box Acrobat crashes upon complete font creation.

  • 3950057: Acrobat crashes when multiple scanned documents are opened and edited simultaneously.

  • 3949757: Acrobat crashes while saving file upon editing a set of pages in a workflow.

  • 3916091: Accelerator keys for TouchUp (‘T’ or ‘t’) are not working on Acrobat Std.

  • 3912978: Acrobat crashes randomly on executing feat tests on scanned files.

  • 3796834: Layout gets haywire when content is edited after move.

  • 3607832: Acrobat Crash when user Add Image and Rotate PDF Pages clockwise/counter clockwise.

  • 3954572: Form Fields names are shown clipped during form fields recognition.

  • 3857590: Conformation for Header, Footer, Watermark Team.

  • 3958281: “Access denied” screen appearing on clicking unsupported tool.

  • 3955024: When insert is invoked from Search Tools, Acrobat thumbnail pane appears broken and an additional File Open dialog appears.

  • 3956662: Crash when changing the output condition in output preview.

  • 3541561: Acrobat XI Pro color conversion ignores line width in Form XObject.

  • 3937863: No warning appears on enabling Enhance Camera Image on Reader Extended PDFs.

  • 3933569: Missing tooltip for Insert from Scanner/ File-> Insert PDF from scanner icon.

  • 3825616: Unable to run OCR in 3 languages - Brazilian Portuguese, EN-UK, Swiss German.

  • 3949749: Portfolio - crash on closing a portfolio (after user toggles from document to home view).

  • 3958627: crashes when converting the web page to pdf and closing the existing pdf while trying to overwrite it.

  • 3955024: When insert is invoked from Search Tools, Acrobat thumbnail pane appears broken and an additional File Open dialog appears.

  • 3966102: Serious Rendering Issue (Acrobat Pro DC problem) posted by customer (This is NOT reproducible in A11 or A10).

  • 3968685: In Fit one page to Window view, Heavy Scanned and OCRed documents are not rendered when find operation is used or zoom is changed until mouse is hovered on RHP.

  • 3948510: Acrobat DC hangs on document with bad Bookmarks on Open.

  • 3994815: Acrobat DC Pro eventID 80 SideBySide errors.

  • 3993218: Some Button events on an interactive PDF do not work in full screen mode

  • 3989117: The destination links present in PDF file are not working in Internet Explorer Browser.

  • 3971075: PDFMaker usage with a Excel embedded OLE table in the PowerPoint file results in poor quality OLE graphics in the final PDF file.

  • 3955726: Signature Appearance Preview in HiDPI Does Not Display Correctly.

  • 3951624: Crash with VoiceOver after tagging document and closing.

  • 3942047: Static XFA text objects do not update when high contrast is enabled.

  • 3949742: Reader/Acrobat crashes when switching between Home view and Tools center if VoiceOver is turned on.

  • 3947034: Focus is not visible to “Notification, Learn more button” although it is reading out by Voice over.

  • 3947021: Voice over is not reading out tool bar options.

  • 3946422: Acrobat/Reader crashes when closing a document and VoiceOver is enabled.

  • 3943945: Input fields in a table are not at all accessible when using JAWS.

  • 3935890: Acrobat crashes when selecting Autotag Document while Voice Over is running on Mac.

  • 3927987: Acrobat crashes when cancelling the digital signature operation if you are creating a new signature field.

  • 2904523: OCR Hangs or fails on document.

  • 3956118: Embedding OutputIntents for PDF/X and PDF/A does not work as expected.

  • 3951148: Email pattern not captured in Mark for Redaction.

  • 3947955: Invoking Embedding Index via Tool’s Search Hangs Acrobat and after that user can’t cancel or quit Acrobat.
