How to use Generative Extend in {{premiere}}.
Easily extend video and audio clips following these quick steps:
1. Open {{premiere}}.
Open {{premiere}} and load the project containing the clip you want to extend. Ensure your timeline is ready and visible for editing.
2. Select a shot.
Select a clip in your timeline that you want to extend. Video clips must be at least 2 seconds long, and audio clips at least 3 seconds. You can apply Generative Extend to the start, end, or both ends of a clip to extend video duration.
3. Select the Generative Extend Tool in the Toolbar.
Select the Generative Extend Tool from the toolbar, then click and drag the edge of your video or audio clip to extend it. Preview the generated frames in real time, and undo changes if needed. This step allows you to extend video length safely and non-destructively.
4. Review your clip.
Review your clip once Generative Extend has finished generating frames. AI-generated frames are clearly labelled in the timeline so you can distinguish original footage from new content. Play through the extended section to ensure smooth transitions and perfectly aligned audio.
Supported clip types and requirements.
Generative Extend works seamlessly with most common video and audio formats in {{premiere}}. To ensure smooth results:
- Video formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, and other standard formats. Video clips should be at least 2 seconds long to allow the AI to generate extra frames effectively.
- Audio formats: WAV, MP3, or other supported audio files. Audio clips must be at least 3 seconds long to maintain quality when extended.
