Dreamweaver integration
Quickly make your new or existing web pages editable online with the new Adobe® InContext Editing service*. Retain control over the look and feel of your sites by designating the parts of the page you want clients or team members to be able to change; all other sections of the page remain locked. Easily set CSS styles to help ensure editable content is properly and consistently formatted. Adobe Dreamweaver® CS4 software gives you the tools to create professional-looking websites, and InContext Editing lets content contributors keep sites up to date from virtually any major browser, without additional software.
Editable regions
Easily define editable regions on any selected page area, from a single text heading to a series of paragraphs. The editable region is identified with a border and tab and the remainder of the page is locked. Add as many editable regions to your page as necessary quickly and easily.
Structured content with repeating regions
Allow content contributors to add new items in a designer-defined structure with the repeating regions feature. Just wrap a repeating region around any editable page element, such as a news item or event listing, and when published, your clients and team members can easily add another item to the series when they choose.
CSS integration
Control the consistent appearance of your page with selective CSS classes. Choose which style sheets — and their included styles — are available to the InContext Editing user in Dreamweaver. When editing content online, contributors can choose the appropriate style from a menu, just like in a WYSIWYG word processor.
Editing options
Define style and even content options for each editable region. A custom Properties panel allows you to enable or disable a wide range of options including basic styles (bold, italic, and underline), alignment, font characteristics (face, size, and color), lists, and CSS styles. Easily allow the content contributor to insert images or add links.
