We have a long history of offering our products to students and teachers at a reduced price. Young people around the world need skills that will help them secure employment in the 21st century. The Cloud
The Cloud is an important form of computing that has enabled the rapid growth in the use of mobile devices and online services. Entrepreneurs worldwide — some from countries that missed out on earlier waves of technology innovation for reasons such as lax intellectual property laws — have a new opportunity to compete as a result of the shift to the Cloud. As Adobe's online services business grows, our ability to serve our customers is threatened by the adoption of trade policies that restrict cross-border data flows, set government standards for data storage or cybersecurity, or mandate that servers be located only in certain jurisdictions. Our customers want access to their data anywhere from any device, and we continue to work to make this a reality in the global economy.
Intellectual property
Adobe values intellectual property rights, including those that deal with copyrights, patents, trademarks and trade secrets. Strong intellectual property laws, vigorously enforced, are important not only for Adobe but for the global technology industry as well. As a software company, Adobe has a substantial problem with piracy, including Internet piracy. We aim to work with all parties toward balanced legislative and trade solutions that promote innovation, combat intellectual property theft and allow the software industry to continue to provide good jobs and innovation that benefit economies worldwide.
Much of 21st century innovation is being driven by data. The analysis of data, in turn, drives customized content that benefits consumers and enables products to be delivered more efficiently. Adobe is a steward of customer data in both our Adobe Creative Cloud and Marketing Cloud businesses.
