Aundre Larrow on photography, empathy, and honing your craft.

Photographer Aundre Larrow shares life lessons, along with his favourite tips and tools for staying productive.

“Root yourself in what you want to do and learn it piece by piece. In college, I was running actions to edit like 60 photos at once. One of my friends was like, ‘What are you doing?!’ If you open in Lightroom and paste these edits, you can do them all at once, adjust them faster, and keep them organized.”

How to create a quick mask in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

This tip from Aundre features smart tech in Lightroom that can save you a ton of time.

Mask with a click.

Click the Masking button and choose Select Subject. Lightroom will automatically create a new mask over the model.

Focus your edits.

A red overlay highlights the mask to show where your edits will be applied. Now you can make adjustments to the image without them affecting the areas outside the mask.

Uncheck Show Overlay to see your adjustments without the red overlay.

Save a new version.

You can save a collection of edits using versioning. When you’re finished adjusting the photo, select Versions from the bottom of the Edit panel. Then choose Create Version and give it a name.
