Colorgraphic Communications

Generating buzz for new products

More than just beefed up PowerPoint

Brian Lemaster is the sales director for Colorgraphic Communications, a leader in the design, manufacture, and sales of multi-screen video adapters. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the company's products are used in a wide range of applications, from powering video walls at trade shows to running the fireworks control screens at a Disney theme park. With an important new line of Xentera GT display adapters set to launch, Lemaster was faced with a daunting challenge: to promote the benefits of the new display cards, increase traffic to the company's website, and generate new customer leads in a short time period. "For the new Xentera GT products we wanted to elevate customer expectations beyond what a flat printed brochure could deliver and essentially bring more weight to our sales prospects," said Lemaster.

He says the company had not really considered paying someone to produce video for them because costs were so prohibitive. Lemaster heard about Visual Communicator® software and began researching the product. He explains, "I quickly realized Visual Communicator was a whole lot more than just a beefed up PowerPoint tool on steroids. It would allow us to go into more depth on our products in a short time frame using the power of video, and we could produce it all ourselves."

Lemaster purchased Visual Communicator and soon began producing his first video, a 45-second, fast-paced corporate video that consisted mostly of graphics and flying text effects. He says the management team was impressed with his first results. "Within about an hour I was comfortable with the interface and knew my way around pretty well. The software is really very easy. It delivers everything it says in the online demo videos. I'm just a peddler with a working knowledge of PowerPoint, yet I was able to put together the entire video brochure in just a couple days."

An instant success

Lemaster says his video brochure was an instant hit and achieved tremendous success in generating prospective customer leads and interest for his company's products. "In addition to having a more compelling presentation for our products, we found that posting a video brochure on our website was a lot faster and more economical than the printing, postage, and mailing costs required for traditional brochures."

Due to the remarkable success, Lemaster says Colorgraphic has already started dreaming up other ways to employ Visual Communicator in additional marketing and customer service projects. Among the plans are video presentations on CD, video press releases on the website, video installation guides that would be included on product installation CDs, and a looping video presentation for the Colorgraphic booth at tradeshows. "The whole Visual Communicator experience has been a pleasure. And because of Visual Communicator we can save a heck of a lot of time and money."
