How to use the AI video editor in Adobe Firefly.
Follow these steps to tell a standout story with the Firefly video editor.
- Start in Firefly.
From the Adobe Firefly homepage, go to the Video module and choose Start from scratch or Open Editor. If you’re currently in the Generate Video experience, select Edit in the Video Editor. - Access and add your generations.
Sign in and open Generation History to browse your previous text to video outputs and supported Firefly video generations. Drag these clips or any uploaded files from the Media panel onto the primary timeline track. Stack additional shots on upper tracks for cutaways, overlays or titles. - Trim and split your sequence.
Hover over the edge of a clip to trim it. Use the Split tool to cut a clip where desired. When you move clips around, the main track will help to keep your story tight. - Add text.
Open the Text panel and choose a template. Edit in the canvas and refine in Properties to change font, size, colour and more. - Add audio.
Drag music, voiceover or effects to an audio track. Select a clip and use Properties → Volume to balance levels. Nudge timing so beats land on cuts. - Generate new clips.
Open Generate in the right panel. Enter a prompt, set duration and aspect ratio and generate. Your result will appear in Generation History — drag it straight into the timeline to extend your story. - Export your video.
Click Download and choose your format to save your story locally to your device.
