LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES features and benefits

Adobe LiveCycle ES
Feature Benefit
Automate document signing
Apply digital signatures on documents to preserve their integrity and authenticity. You can use signatures as a means to meet your document retention needs even for those documents that have not been originally designed to capture signatures.
  • Leverage digital signatures that can have legal validity for fully electronic business processes
  • Better prepare documents for long-term retention
  • Use signatures to mark approval for key business milestones in a document workflow
  • Improve efficiency and cycle time by automating the handling of all PDF documents
Automate signature validation for tracking document integrity
Confirm the validity of the signature and ensure that the document has not been modified since the application of that signature.
  • Help ensure the authenticity and integrity of PDF documents
  • Increase user trust and adoption of electronic documents
  • Reduce losses from fraud
  • Meet records management compliance regulations
  • Use signature validation as an "eNotary" service for inbound documents
Publish certified documents
Certify documents with predefined authorization to permit or deny changes to the document in the business process downstream. Certified documents validate automatically at the recipient's end (when viewed with Adobe® Reader® software) without any out-of-band exchange of trust chains. Certification signatures can be applied individually or in batches using digital certificates from third-party vendors.
  • Detect modified files and unauthorized changes at the recipient end with well-articulated signature appearances and associated signature status
  • Detect tampering to form business logic or forged forms at the author end
  • Enable forms to retain their data collection, annotation, and approval features and continue to communicate the authenticity and integrity for the participants
  • Maintain the authenticity of archived documents
Use Adobe Certified Document Services (CDS) for document publishing
Adobe partners with key Certificate Authorities to provide CDS certificates. The use of CDS certificates for signing by Adobe LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES allows the signature to validate in Reader or Adobe Acrobat® software without any out-of-band trust exchanges or security preference changes on the recipient end.
  • Improve loyalty by providing your customers a way to distinguish your authentic documents from phishing attacks
  • Improve your online business process adoption by enabling your customers and partners to trust your electronic documents
  • Build online trust
Leverage PDF neutrality
LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES can sign and verify signatures in any well-formed PDF document, regardless of the type of file that was used to generate it or whether it was generated by Adobe server products, by Acrobat, or by a third-party solution.
  • Protect any type of information that is saved in a PDF file (text, audio, video files)
  • Work with static and dynamic forms as well as "flat" PDF forms
Integrate with existing security infrastructure
Extend the use of digital certificates issued by your in-house CA or from a CA vendor with LiveCycle Digital Signature ES. Integration with standard Hardware Security Modules that hold the private key Run LiveCycle ES in FIPS operating mode to only use FIPS approved algorithms for document protection.
