SCC MediaFactory is designed to process text, graphics, and pictures originally transmitted from wire services, stored in archives, or saved directly from word processors or scanning devices. The new Graphics Server channel in MediaFactory provides a high-level point-and-click user interface substitute to the Java and XML programming otherwise necessary to use Graphics Server , allowing the user to set up complex image processing tasks by defining a sequence of Graphics Server commands and configuring each command from a property dialog. The MediaFactory folder watching facilities are then employed to locate files in hot folders, deliver them to the Graphics Server server (which can be the same computer or any server accessible via LAN or Internet), and finally retrieve the resulting image for storage.
