Sr. Creative 3D Evangelist & Community Advocate | Adobe
Giovanni Nakpil grew up in Manila, where he was captivated by the magic of science fiction and horror films. After studying Computer Graphics in Toronto, his multidisciplinary career took him across North America-from Maryland and Texas to California and Washington. As a digital model supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, Giovanni helped bring to life iconic creatures in blockbuster films like Star Trek and The Avengers.
He later moved into the gaming industry at Valve Corporation and then into tech at Meta, where he played a role in advancing virtual reality through Oculus.
Today, Giovanni is a Senior Creative 3D Evangelist and Community Advocate at Adobe, connecting with artists around the world and living his dream of creating with cutting-edge digital tools.

Local Creator Spotlight
Kat Ammann is the maker behind the Sacramento based jewelry brand Crafted. She's dabbled in just about every type of craft she's come across and has been proudly selling her handmade work since 2006. Combining her background in graphic design with a passion for creating handmade objects, Kat focuses on creating fun, lightweight jewelry. "Making wearable art enables me to connect with my customers in a very personal way. My work takes on a new life through someone else's journey of self expression. It's a really special feeling to become part of so many other people's stories."

Local Creator Spotlight
Lily Therens is an art director, designer, and illustrator who runs her own creative studio in midtown Sacramento. A UC Davis graduate who grew up in rural Northern California without electricity, she spends most days creating on the computer with her pug Stanley at her side. She focuses her creative practice in the bar, restaurant & hospitality industry, with projects ranging from brand development to large-scale mural designs. As her portfolio of recognizable work grows, Lily holds humor, hard work & humility central to her creative approach.
