How to split PDF files on Chromebook devices

Navigate to the Split PDF page on Acrobat online, and then follow these steps:

  1. Click the Select A File button or drag and drop your file into the drop zone.
  2. Sign in to Acrobat — or a Google or Apple account — to continue with your file.
  3. After your file uploads, you will see thumbnails of the pages within the original file.
  4. Hover over the dashed lines between the pages and click with the Scissors tool to split your PDF into multiple new files.

When you have separated your files, click Continue. You can choose to save your files in the same folder you uploaded from or create a new folder for them.

How to split a PDF into individual pages on Chromebook.

Another way that you can split a PDF is by using the Adobe Acrobat software downloaded on your Chromebook. If you have a large file and you want to separate it into many one-page PDFs, you can easily do so with Adobe Acrobat.

Open your PDF in Acrobat and follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Organize Pages icon on the right and then the Split icon on the top.
  2. A secondary toolbar will open. Choose to split by “Number of pages” from the dropdown menu and then choose to split by one page.
  3. Use Output Options from the same secondary toolbar to decide how and where to save your new PDFs.
  4. Select OK and Split, and save your PDF.

Now that your PDFs are split, you can use Adobe Acrobat to continue to edit your PDFs. You can also use the “Number of pages” split to divide your PDF at intervals of as many pages as you want.

How to split a PDF into two on Chromebook.

There are a number of ways you can split your PDFs into two on Chromebook. You can use the Split PDF page on Acrobat online, or you can use Adobe Acrobat.

To use Adobe Acrobat to split your file into two, create a top-level bookmarkwhere you want your file to be split, and then open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat.

  1. Choose the Organize Pages icon on the right and then the Split icon on the top.
  2. A secondary toolbar will open. Choose to split by “Top-level bookmarks” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Use Output Options from the same secondary toolbar to decide how and where to save your new PDFs.
  4. Select OK and Split, and save your PDF.

You can also create as many top-level bookmarks as you want while you’re working with your PDF, and this function will split your PDF where each bookmark is — not only into two.
