What is the meaning of the color viridian?

Viridian color is a medium-dark green blended with traces of blue. The pigment was first prepared in France where it was named vert émeraude (meaning “emerald green”). Its deep and almost teal quality, however, distinguishes it from emerald. Viridian is in a class of its own.

The color viridian fills the void between green and teal. It provides a serene shade of green, a color that usually symbolizes vivacity.
