Designers are in the business of creating things that haven't been seen before. This takes guts at the best of times. But when you’re dealing with real passion — brands that have a special place in people’s hearts — then you need more than guts; you need a thick skin and a bold resolve. Join graphic designer Stuart Watson to hear how most of his work has been initially met with hate, anger, and sheer shock. Luckily, these same brands have survived the initial uproar to go on to be loved. So much so that he now sees online outrage as a sign that he’s gotten it right and created something truly new. New is scary, uncomfortable, often unwelcome and unwanted. But new is often what the world needs to keep moving forward.

In this session, Stuart will share how to:

  • Not fear the fallout of launching a brand
  • Create a brand that the world needs (not one that people think they want)
  • Trust your gut to get you to the right answer
