Introduction
[Stefan Gruenwedel]: Hello, I'm Stefan Gruenwedel.
I'm an instructor for the Adobe Learn team.
In this video, I'm going to show you some ways to export a PDF into a fully editable version in Microsoft Office.
I'm also going to show you some really cool ways to redesign a PDF using Adobe Express.
Convert a PDF to Microsoft Word
Suppose you want to update your resume, but all you have is a PDF.
You lost the original version in Microsoft Word.
You might think you're out of luck, but it's no problem.
It's possible to convert the PDF back into the original format that Word uses.
Try this out for yourself using the sample files in this tutorial.
From the All tools panel on the left, choose Export a PDF.
You can also get there by clicking the Convert tab at the top.
The Convert panel offers several options, but choose Microsoft Word for now.
Once you do, click Convert to DOCX, choose a destination for the converted file and click Save.
After Microsoft Word opens and loads the resume file, you can edit it as you would any Word document.
There's another reason to export a PDF,
Open PDFs in Adobe Express
and I think this one's pretty cool.
Going back to the Convert panel, you'll see that Adobe Express is the topmost choice.
Choose that one, and then click Export to Adobe Express to see what you can do in Express.
Apply styles and themes in Express
Look at the options in the Stylize PDF shortcuts panel in the upper right.
Choose Apply document style.
You can also get here by clicking Theme in the Toolbar on the left.
Try out a few themes to see how they redesign your document.
I like the swatches on the Color tab.
Some of them change just the text, while others change the page color too.
Back in the Shortcuts panel, choose Get font recommendations.
The Text panel on the left displays a few different fonts you can try out.
Click View all to see a bunch more.
This panel is contextual.
It changes based on what you select on the canvas, whether it's specific text or the background page.
The Toolbar gives you tools to change magnification, undo changes, share with others, and more.
Remember that your original PDF remains open and unmodified back in Acrobat.
Download a new PDF
When you're done making changes in Adobe Express, click Download to save those changes as a new PDF.
