Combining two different images together creates unique and imaginative compositions, and using blend modes to do it is quick and easy.
Let's try.
Start with a single image open in Photoshop.
Drag and drop a second image from your computer so it's added as a layer above the first.
Make sure the top layer is selected and find the drop-down menu for blend modes within the Layers panel, Hover over the different options and watch how they interact, transforming into something new.
Blend modes are nondestructive, so you can freely experiment without altering the original images.
What you're seeing is a playful interaction between the pixels of one layer and the pixels of the layer beneath it.
I'm using the Soft Light blend mode to achieve the look I want.
Keep experimenting.
