Struggling with unkempt hair in your portraits?

In the next few minutes, I will show you how to retouch hair in Photoshop using Generative Fill.
This is a fantastic portrait.
Unfortunately, his hair did not look its best.
Retouching unkempt hair used to be a messy process, but with Generative Fill, we can solve this issue with just a few clicks.
To start, enable the Selection Brush from the Toolbar, then resize the brush to make it smaller and easier to control.
You can tap on the left and right bracket keys to do so.
You'll find the bracket keys to the right of the letter P in North American keyboards.
Then simply loop around the unkempt hair.
If the start and end points are near each other, the loop will automatically close and fill the center.
If you make a mistake, hold Alt on Windows or Option on the Mac to temporarily enable the Subtract mode, and paint away the imperfections.
Then, from the Taskbar, click on Generative Fill, leave the prompt blank and click Generate.
And in just a few moments, Photoshop will generate three options to use in the selected area.
You can click on the Arrow icons in the Taskbar to cycle through the results and find the one that works best.
If you don't like any of the results, click on Generate one more time to get three additional variations.
When you find the generation you like best, you can click the Eye icon to disable the edits and compare the results to the original image.
