Overview: A vulnerability within Adobe Reader and Acrobat control has been identified. Under certain circumstances, if a PDF file contains an invalid count value in the root page node, Adobe Reader or Acrobat may crash.

Adobe has solutions available that can resolve these issues. Refer to the "Recommendations" section in this document for further information.

Effect: Adobe Reader or Acrobat may crash.

Details: This issue does not involve the execution of malicious code. Data in unsaved files could be lost during a crash of the application.

Recommendations:

-- If you use Adobe Reader 7.0, download the update to Adobe Reader 7.0.5 or later at www.adobe.com/support/downloads.

-- If you use earlier versions of Adobe Reader, download Adobe Reader 7.0.5 or later at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html , and install it.

-- If you use Adobe Acrobat 7.0, download and install the Adobe Acrobat 7.0.5 or later update from www.adobe.com/support/downloads .

-- If you use earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat, upgrade to Adobe Acrobat 7.0, and then download and install the Adobe Acrobat 7.0.5 or later update from www.adobe.com/support/downloads.
