Patch available for Adobe Connect Enterprise Server information disclosure issue

Summary

Due to insufficient validation, a malicious user could view but not alter certain administrator-only pages.

Solution

Adobe recommends Adobe Connect Enterprise Server users upgrade to Adobe Connect 6 Service Pack 3.

For Adobe Connect users unable to update to Service Pack 3, Adobe recommends installing the patch provided, using the instructions below.

  1. Ensure that you have connect_602_r389 or connect_602_r390 installed. For more information on updating to Connect Enterprise 6 SP2 please see the Connect Updates page.
  2. Backup existing appserv and comserv directories.
  3. Copy patch_to_602_r389a2.zip into your \breeze root directory,
  4. Unzip patch_to_602_r389a2.zip in place, being sure to overwrite any files (if any file is locked, then disable the service, reboot the server and try again. All files must overwrite successfully; re-enable the services once complete)
  5. Restart services.
  6. Verify http://(server)/version.txt shows:

Adobe categorizes this as an important issue and recommends affected users update their installations using the above instructions.

Details

Due to insufficient validation, a malicious user could view certain administrator-only pages. Sensitive information could be disclosed, but changes to the information are not possible by the malicious user. This issue is remotely exploitable.

NOTE: Acrobat Connect and Acrobat Connect Professional Hosted are not affected by this issue.
