Our commitment to achieve net zero by 2050.

  • 100% renewable electricity by 2025
  • 55% supplier spend to those with SBTs (Scope 3) by 2025
  • 35% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2025
  • 30% reduction in business travel emissions (Scope 3) by 2025
  • 90% global waste diversion rate annually
  • 25% reduction in global water usage per full time employee by 2025
  • 80% of Adobe buildings, by square footage, certified to LEED or other green building standards

Adobe measures, monitors and discloses progress towards our net zero by 2050 target, and interim targets, in our CSR Report and CDP climate disclosure. To measure progress, we annually calculate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions using the World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The emissions inventory is independently verified in accordance with ISO 14064-3 Second Edition 2019-04: Greenhouse gases – Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements.

Reducing environmental impact through product innovation.

Our commitment to sustainability starts with our products, which help customers operate more efficiently while reducing their environmental impacts. Innovations like cloud-based software delivery, paperless workflows, and virtual collaboration all help to reduce physical waste and cut emissions from transportation and shipping.

Adobe Document Cloud

Adobe Document Cloud reduces the waste and inefficiency associated with traditional paper-based document processes by accelerating the paper-to-digital transformation. For every 1 million pages digitally signed daily via Adobe Acrobat Sign, more than 27 million gallons of water, 1.5 million pounds of waste, and 23.4 million pounds of CO2 emissions are avoided. Try our calculators to find out how Acrobat and Acrobat Sign can help your organization reduce your environmental impact .

Adobe Substance 3D

Adobe’s 3D design and immersive media innovations enable global brands like HUGO BOSS to advance their sustainability goals by transforming physical product manufacturing to highly efficient digital workflows. Using 3D rendering can help companies reduce their carbon footprint by an average of 98% compared to traditional photoshoots while saving time and money. Building greener operations.

Operational sustainability is a hallmark of Adobe, inspiring us to build LEED-certified offices, set a 100% renewable energy goal, establish our science-based targets, and more. We want to consistently reduce our impact on the planet while responsibly enhancing our bottom line.

We’ve already achieved our 2025 targets for reduction in scope 1, scope 2, and business travel emissions, and we’re continuing to focus on renewable energy across our major sites. We recognize that we can and must do more. That’s why we accelerated our 100% renewable electricity goal from 2035 to 2025 and opened Founders Tower in January 2023. It’s the first all-electric building of its scale powered by 100% renewable energy in Silicon Valley.

Partnering to drive change.

When it comes to sustainability, no single organization can go it alone. We work with our customers, industry peers, and partners to use our collective voices to drive change. For example, we work with the Clean Energy Buyers Association and Ceres to use the power of all our brands to affect policy change. We encourage our suppliers to set science-based climate targets and improve the transparency and accuracy of disclosures.
