How to send Vinted parcels: tips to add a personal touch to your postage and packaging.

What are the main ways to send a Vinted parcel?

Vinted offers two main ways of sending a parcel. You can either use a pre-paid shipping label generated by the app, or custom options that allow you to organise shipping separately. Custom shipping is only available on items that are too large or heavy to send via normal postal services.

You will mostly use Vinted’s prepaid shipping option. Here, the buyer will cover the cost of postage. Then all you need to do is download the shipping label and print this off, or take a QR code to a shipping provider for them to scan and print – great if you don’t have a printer at home.

The shipping providers available from Vinted include:

• Royal Mail – take your parcel to your local post office or drop off point.
• Evri – find your nearest Evri drop off point and either get a printable label or a digital label.
• InPost – you can send your parcel via an InPost locker using the screen to set up your drop off, or you can leave with the staff at a shop offering InPost services.
• Yodel – Similar to Evri, you can either download a barcode to be scanned in a shop or a downloadable shipping label to print at home.
• DPD – take your parcel to your nearest drop off point with your downloaded QR code. The staff in store will scan this to print off your shipping label.
• Relay – this shipping provider is only available in London currently, but you can download a QR code and take this to a drop off point to ship your parcel.

How long do you have to post an item on Vinted?

While it’s a good idea to get that item posted as soon as possible, you have up to five working days to send a Vinted parcel. If you don’t send your item within five days, the order will be cancelled, the buyer refunded, and you’ll receive automatic negative feedback. So, it’s best to send that parcel quickly.

One to two days is a good timescale to aim for to get that item shipped. This gives you time to get the parcel well packaged and in order while still sending quickly.

You may get buyers messaging you asking if the parcel can be shipped ASAP. We’ve all become accustomed to next-day deliveries, so it’s up to you how you respond – but we recommend always being polite and only doing what is convenient for you.
