Step into the world of surreal storytelling with fine art photographer Claire Luxton as she shares her layered approach to creating emotive composites in Photoshop. Drawing from her sculptural and artistic background, Claire demonstrates how to use traditional, hands-on techniques to build detailed, immersive, symbolic visuals and explore a more intuitive, personal creative process to develop cohesive, painterly composite images.

In this session, you’ll see how to:

  • Apply complex layers and blend using masks, brushes, and adjustments
  • Compose and composite with the sensibility of a painter using color channels, curves, and refined selections
  • Paint with light and shadow to create atmosphere through texture, tone, and detail
  • Retouch gently using frequency separation to preserve natural beauty and form
